Digital renovation

Arenas Club de Getxo, a historic Spanish soccer club, needed an urgent digital renovation.

Until then, they had a very old website, where the information was poorly organized and could not add updated content.

In addition, the web design was not responsive and could not be viewed correctly from a computer, tablet or cell phone.

One of the pages listed all the products of the store, but could not be purchased online, so it was necessary to go to the physical store of the club to buy their products.

When they asked us to help them solve their problem, it was clear.

We had in front of us a great digital renovation project and the result had to be at the height of such a historic club as the Arenas Club de Getxo. So we got down to work.

We design and develop your customized online store

Our goal: Define, design and develop the new online store and website for this historic club.

Design strategy

The difference between a project being successful or not is in the strategy.

That is why, for this project, we analyzed, planned and structured the design of the website and the online store, understanding very well the needs of Arenas Club de Getxo and its fans.

We designed several wireframes or design prototypes where we represented visually, in a very simple and schematic way, the structure of the website.

This way we made sure that each implemented element was really what this project needed.

We focused on the ease of use and the ability to grow the content, both in the news part, as well as in the template players, online store products, etc.

Continuous customer feedback

Nobody knows the needs of the project better than the clients, however, as professionals, we are obliged to make the necessary recommendations within our field to make the project unbeatable.

For that reason, we use a tool to share the wireframes or prototypes of the design. In this tool, the client gave us all the comments, suggestions and doubts that arose. And we were modifying based on their preferences and recommending the best solutions for the design to be perfect. This is the best way to make a project a true success story.

Custom programming for WordPress

Once we had the design finalized and approved by the client, we finished the strategy and creativity phase and focused on the creation phase.

The project required a custom development for WordPress, with this we managed to have a fully customized design and able to respond to customer needs. And, also, we avoid having unnecessary plugins that slow down the web as is the case of predefined WordPress templates.

The development of the project was completed with the implementation of the online store in Woocommerce. Now the Arenas Club de Getxo was ready to sell and ship their products anywhere, without the fans having to travel to the physical store. This meant a significant increase in sales.

Managing content has never been easier

One of the big “problems” of a soccer club is the amount of updated information they have to manage. Calendars and information about the matches, registrations and withdrawals of the teams they face, modifications in the players’ cards, etc…

Therefore, in addition to creating an attractive design and developing the online store and website, we programmed a custom plugin for WordPress.

Now Arenas Club de Getxo could easily manage all the information and edit the team’s calendar and standings. We developed a team manager to register, quickly, all the teams they can face in the league or in any other competition. These teams are added to the calendar along with the date on which the match is played.

Launch of the online store

Thanks to all the work and effort we put into the project, we managed to make the online store and the website a success.

The launch had to be in style, so in synchronization with the press and communication department of the team, we published the online store, accompanied by publications and announcements on social networks.

The impact was immediate. The first day of publication of the online store and website, the club began to receive orders from customers outside the traditional radius of action, which was its physical store.
