More and more people are using bicycles as a means of transportation, as it is the cheapest, most environmentally friendly and sustainable option available right now. And despite the fact that the number of urban cyclists is increasing every year, parking places for bicycles are very scarce.

That’s why our client decided to bring an idea to life to solve this problem, and so Vadebike was born. The company implemented a series of parking lots in different cities so that cyclists would have a comfortable and safe place to leave their bicycles.

So that users could take advantage of the benefits of Vadebike, we were asked to develop a mobile application for iOS and Android, from where users can locate, reserve and manage their parking in a very simple way.

Simply with their cell phone and through NFC and Bluetooth technology, the user can open and close the parking lot to park their bike.

Our goal: To offer a comprehensive solution for urban cyclists to reserve, pay for and manage their bicycle parking spaces.

Main features

The Vadebike app has been designed with the needs of urban cyclists in mind and how it can make their day-to-day lives easier.

Interactive map: Users can locate the parking stations closest to their position. They can also check the availability of free and occupied spaces, and access detailed information about each parking lot.
Parking space reservation: From the mobile application, cyclists can reserve a parking space at a specific station for a specific time, thus guaranteeing an available space upon arrival.
Automated access and payment: When registering on the mobile app, users enter their credit or debit card number, so the parking fee is calculated and charged automatically when the bicycle is picked up.
Personalized insurance: As app users, they have the option, at the time of registration, to choose between basic and premium insurance to protect their bike against incidents.

App management panel

From the administration panel of the Vadebike mobile application all parking stations are managed.

Administrators have access to all kinds of information in a very simple way. In addition, it allows them to continuously monitor the status of parking spaces.

Station and space management: Allows administrators to open, lock and monitor each parking space in real time.
User and payment control: From the dashboard they have access to records, user information, renewals and user transactions.
Parking status: They can see any type of incidence in the different stations in real time. Know information about maintenance and operations performed in the parking lots to ensure the proper functioning of the stations.

The parking lots are IoT devices connected to Google BigTable and BigQuery. Through the administration panel there is remote control to the parking lots to open, close or lock them remotely.

Along with the administration panel, we have also been responsible for the development of the REST API used for communication between mobile applications and the database.

Vadebike has managed to improve the daily life of urban cyclists by offering them a practical and secure solution for parking their bicycles.

The simple and intuitive design of the mobile application and the administration panel allows users and administrators to perform every action without complications.
